Safe Routes Coaching

The Coaching Action Network also offers free individualized assistance. After registering for the webinar, you can also apply for one-on-one coaching from an experienced leader in safe routes to school.

About the Coaches:

America Walks' network of coaches includes people who have established and helped safe routes to school programs across North America. Their practical experience is supplemented by professional expertise (in areas including planning, engineering, enforcement, education, and even law). Coaches can help you get started, plug you into a larger network of organizers, or work with you to review, develop, or improve specific materials.

You may be eligible for 1-4 hours of coaching assistance, including:

  • Telephone calls
  • Materials assistance
  • Specialized training
  • Strategic planning
  • Identifying funding sources

How to Request Free Assistance:

Funding from the National Center for Safe Routes to School enables us to offer our coaching services to individuals at no charge.  We give priority to requests from individuals working on grassroots projects.  Plase contact us, including the following information:

  • E-mail Address
  • Describe you need
  • Describe the school or community the project will serve

America Walks' staff will contact you within one week of the date you submit your request to confirm that we have received it.  Most requests are evaluated within two weeks. You will be provided with a mutual introduction to your coach and will be responsible for initiating contact with them.  Coaching services may expire if not used within three months of the award date.
